How We Help

The International Rescue Committee works with people affected by conflict or disaster, often forced to flee their homes, always vulnerable.

We protect health and provide education in emergencies. We protect children caught up in war at home, in camps or with hosts. We help protect women and girls at risk of violence and abuse.  And we work to protect rights in all our work.

When conflict turns to peace we help to consolidate that peace to stop war breaking out again.  We help rebuild economies, prepare people to regain their livelihoods or develop new ones, and help communities implement structures for development.
